After extensive consultations within the Faculty of Arts & Science following the 2017 / 18 UTQAP review, it was recommended that the Latin American Studies program be housed at the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. To us, this is exciting news as we will be able to offer our students more options to deepen their study of the regions. For the current academic year, the program will maintain its physical location at the Jackman Humanities Building.
As a member of our Latin American Studies community, these changes mean better and integrated access to more relevant activities organized by the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. We hope that you will continue to join us as part of the vibrant and diverse community of scholars and students sharing common interest in Latin American topics.
We are also proud to share with you our calendar of events for the academic year 2019 / 2020: we will have a fascinating collaboration with our colleagues from the Institute of Islamic Studies and our Wednesday Luncheon Series is back!
